New and Expecting Parents

Overview

Pregnancy, postpartum, and the new lives of parents are challenging (and joyous!) for everyone. When you have ADHD, all of it can be even more intense.

Here are just a few of the reasons ADHD creates extra challenges in this time:

  • Dramatic hormone changes during pregnancy and postpartum significantly impact ADHD symptoms
  • Planning and preparing for a baby requires a lot of executive function, which is impaired in ADHD
  • Limited working memory in ADHD makes it extra hard to keep up with increased mental load
  • All of the strategies and routines used to manage ADHD suddenly have to be changed
  • Emotion dysregulation in ADHD can make the ups & downs more extreme

I want to help you navigate these major changes with confidence and self-compassion.

Services

In our Discovery Call, we will discuss what approach will support you the most.

I offer:

  • Custom packages designed for your stage of parenthood. This may include a series of hour-long sessions for expecting parents and/or shorter and more flexible sessions for new parents.
  • Last-minute 15-minute triage sessions specifically for the postpartum period.
  • For clients in the Ann Arbor area, I offer home organizing to set up your space and systems for your growing family. If you are not local but would like help with your physical space, I can do organization coaching remotely.

All of these offerings include support in between sessions.
